Paring knife, from the Les Forgés 1890 collection, made in France by Opinel.
Blade with a length of 8cm, made of stainless steel.
The paring knife, part of the LES FORGES 1890 collection, is made in France by Opinel.
"LES FORGES 1890" represents the top of the range of French cutlery.
100% forged, this knife is robust, durable, perfectly balanced, with impeccable cutting quality.
The blade is 8cm long. This small knife is multi-purpose and very practical. The blade is short and pointed to allow you a very precise cut. You will thus be sure to peel, dice, peel tomatoes, turn artichokes and hull strawberries, with disconcerting ease!
The knife is made of X50CrMoV15 steel, which is a stainless steel that has a very high resistance to corrosion. The hardness of the blade is 56-57 HRC. The full tang blade is defined by the fact that it extends throughout the handle. This contributes to the robustness and balance of this knife since the weight of the steel is perfectly distributed.
The handle is made of beech, from an eco-managed forest. It is not varnished, however, it has been stabilized to resist water. The handling is remarkable. We advise you to clean your knife by hand, and not in the dishwasher. It is delivered to you in a pretty Opinel blue box.
Delivery : around 8-30 days, to confirm with our customer service
Opinel was created in 1890 in the heart of the Savoie, at the foothills of the mountains. Invented by Joseph Opinel, the knife has become a familiar, timeless French classic over 125 years. Originally created for the villagers in the area, the knives were given numbers from 1897 onwards. The crowned hand logo, now found on all Opinel knives, was registered in 1909. In 1955 Marcel Opinel invented the rotating collar (Virobloc) for locking the knives open or closed. Opinel pocket knives are still made in Savoie, still using the craftsmanship the brand has developed over so many years.
