Domed glass lid, with stainless steel rim and knob, made in France by CRISTEL and from the Collection 1826.
This collection is inspired by Cristel's past creations, notably their first designs, in 1826. Indeed, it was in their factory that the world's first stamped saucepan was produced on this date. 200 years have passed and Cristel decided to pay tribute to this historic product and, based on its design, create a new collection. Of course, Cristel has taken care to bring to this collection 1826 all the expertise and technical advances of our time.
The lid is made of domed tempered glass ultra-resistant to shocks and temperatures.
All around, a stainless steel rim, and on top of the lid, a conical knob, also entirely stainless steel.
This knob is very comfortable to hold.
The domed shape of the lid allows:
- to retain moisture during cooking
- to preserve the hydration of food
- to conserve the nutritional qualities of food
It is therefore essential for:
- Keeping dishes warm
- Boiling water quickly and thus saving energy
- Distributing heat evenly throughout the utensil for optimal cooking
- Easily monitoring your preparations, since you can see through it
It fits all utensils from the Collection 1826, but also those from other Cristel collections.
The lid can go in the oven up to 220°C (except grill).

Cookware manufacturer and France’s number one producer of cookware with removable handles and grips, CRISTEL story began life in France in 1849, when the first French pressed saucepan came out of Fesches-le-Châtel workshop and factory, the first CRISTEL production site. Quickly, the enamel branch gained in importance and the company became the second French industrial enterprise under the Second Empire. But in 1981, the manufacturer closed due to a succession of wars, political and economic transformations. Two years later, in 1983, former employees reopened the factory, first illegally then under a cooperative, and gave it a name: CRISTEL. The brand was born. In 1987, believing in the industry and in the factory true potential, Paul and Bernadette Dodane invested in the company and transformed it to a limited company. Their vision: to combine excellence, elegance, modernisation and innovation.
