Emile Henry manufactures in France the rice casserole, a casserole made of ceramic.

For perfectly cooked rice, respecting flavours and textures, this casserole is the perfect cooking utensil.

Whether cooking long, round, Thai or other rice, wild, white or wholegrain, this casserole is inspired by traditional Japanese pots, the donabes.

The heat from the stove is gently diffused thanks to the casserole's thick walls, ensuring even cooking of each grain of rice while retaining moisture. Thus, one third of the cooking is done off the heat, thanks to the thermal properties of the ceramic.

Nutrients are preserved.

This casserole consists of 3 parts:

- Basin

- Intermediate, inner and perforated lid

- Outer lid

The perforated inner lid is very practical, it:

- prevents boil-overs

- brings to the boil more quickly

- slightly pressurises the pot

- keeps steam close to the rice to perfect the cooking

- allows even cooking

- prevents drying out on the upper part

Its Flame ceramic promises excellent heat diffusion for even and controlled cooking.

This casserole has a capacity of 2.24 litres, allowing you to prepare 800g to 1 kilo of rice, which corresponds to rice portions for 4 people as a main dish, or for 6 people as a side dish.

It is compatible with all heat sources (gas, vitroceramic hobs, halogen, electric), oven (up to 270°C) and microwave - EXCEPT induction.

It withstands temperatures from -20°C to 290°C.
