This Chistera sauté pan in cherry enamelled cast iron from STAUB, with a diameter of 24 cm, combines the versatility of a sauté pan with the characteristic cooking quality of STAUB cast iron. Its special feature is the lid with specially designed elements, inspired by the chistera of the Basque pelota, which ensures continuous basting during cooking. It is suitable for all types of fires and can be used in the oven, including induction hobs. With a capacity of 2.4 litres, it is suitable for 3 to 4 people, or even more depending on the preparation.
This sauté pan is the result of genuine French know-how and a traditional manufacturing process. It is a unique piece. The 24 cm diameter STAUB sauteuse has a convex lid with a Chistera "drop structure". The relief of the lid evokes the characteristic shape of the chistera used in the game of Basque pelota.
Thanks to this innovative structure, continuous watering during the baking process achieves high performance. The water condenses and falls back into the pan in the form of droplets. This allows for healthier cooking with less fat, while making the vegetables softer. The pan is available in six colours: matt black, cherry, grenadine, graphite grey, deep blue and basil. Each of these colour choices adds an extra aesthetic touch to the pan, giving it an attractive appearance in your kitchen.
